Birds, birds, and more birds.
After about a week, I’m putting out another one of these articles. This time, it’ll be about one of the best teams in the NFL: the Baltimore Ravens.
Some disclaimers:
- There are no ties in my predictions. I hate ties.
- Each person can only win one award. I don’t want Chase Young winning three awards when I get to the Redskins.
With that said, let’s get to the Ravens season!
Schedule
- Week 1 – Win (1-0) vs Browns
- Week 2 – Win (2-0) @ Texans
- Week 3 – Win (3-0) vs Chiefs
- Week 4 – Win (4-0) @ Redskins
- Week 5 – Win (5-0) vs Bengals
- Week 6 – Loss (5-1) @ Eagles
- Week 7 – Win (6-1) vs Steelers
- Week 8 – BYE
- Week 9 – Loss (6-2) @ Colts
- Week 10 – Win (7-2) @ Patriots
- Week 11 – Win (8-2) vs Titans
- Week 12 – Win (9-2) @ Steelers
- Week 13 – Win (10-2) vs Cowboys
- Week 14 – Loss (10-3) @ Browns
- Week 15 – Win (11-3) vs Jaguars
- Week 16 – Win (12-3) vs Giants
- Week 17 – Win (13-3) @ Rams
Best Win
This is an incredibly obvious choice. The Ravens win in Week 3 against the Chiefs. This might be the best game on the entire NFL schedule, so the winner of this game will absolutely have this as their best win. Lamar Jackson is able to outduel Patrick Mahomes and lead the Ravens to a signature victory.
Worst Loss
This is also a fairly easy choice because there’s really only one semi-bad loss on this schedule. The Ravens are gonna drop the game against the Browns in Week 14. The Browns have a lot of talent, and they have a chance to get lucky and beat the Ravens. Also, this game is in Cleveland, so there are a lot of factors that could lead to a Browns victory.
Season Outlook
There are a lot of people who think the Ravens were really fluky this year, but this season will prove that they’re for real. They’ll only lose three games all year, and they will establish themselves as one of the elite teams in the NFL for years to come. They’ll absolutely win their division, and they might even win their conference (I don’t want to spoil all of the other articles)
Team MVP
This feels too easy. He’s the reigning MVP, and if the Ravens go 13-3, then Lamar Jackson should easily be the MVP. Lamar is, for my money, the most exciting player in the NFL. If he develops as a passer (and I think he will this year), he would have a very good case for the best player in the entire NFL. Not bad for a running back.
Offensive Player of the Year
The last draft class had some great wide receivers: A.J. Brown, Deebo Samuel, D.K. Metcalf. This year, another receiver’s gonna join them: Marquise Brown. A true speed demon, Brown will most likely become Lamar’s #1 target. He could very easily play the Tyreek Hill role for the Ravens, and that will turn him into an elite WR.
Defensive Player of the Year
The Ravens have made some incredible moves over the last few years, and the trade for Marcus Peters might be the best one. Peters has been a top-tier corner for a long time, and he shined with the Ravens last year. With another year in the defense, Peters could develop into a top 3 CB.
Rookie of the Year
Patrick Queen was taken in the first round, and it should be a solid pick. However, for the purposes of this year, J.K. Dobbins will be the Ravens’ rookie of the year. Dobbins is a stud, plain and simple. He was one of the best running backs in college last year, and the only reason he didn’t go earlier was the low value of running backs in the league. Dobbins, Lamar, and Brown could easily become the next great offensive triplet.
